Found an orphaned baby Raccoon??
Then immediately contact the nearest Rehabilitator, Vet, or Dept. Of Natural Resources for help.... Do Not Delay.... The longer you wait, the less chance the baby has of surviving... DON'T try to care for babies, without help, if you've never successfully raised Raccoons before.... Also, be aware that Raccoons are susceptible to Rabies. Avoid scratches and bites that break the skin and bleed.

Rocky
A Quiet Moment - Not something we have often these days...   Meet "Rocky",  Not Rocky from the Bullwinkle  Show   a squirrel)  and not the boxer either...  Rocky The Raccoon.    When his mother made a nest in an attic,  the hole she was using got covered up which separated her from Rocky.  When he got hungry,  he started crawling around and fell into the wall.   A 2' hole had to be made in the wall to extract him.

Where's my bottle ?  - Rocky's eyes just opened which makes him right at 3 weeks old.  He's growing like a weed and eats like a horse...  Mild mannered but can wake the house when he's hungry....

Just let me at him, I got teeth now !! -  Just seems like yesterday he was just barely a hand full... Now,  that short,  round pug nosed has started to elongate toward that of a grown raccoon.   Those floppy ears are now more pointed and stand up.   Two things that haven't changed are his raging appetite and his wild energy..

Sooner or later, I'm gonna figure out how to get off this shoulder !! -  What a big difference 18 days can make.  Rocky's nose more pointed like that of a grown raccoon.    His ears are noticeably more pointed.   His color is beginning to darken as his fur thickens.   The only places left without fur are the bottoms of his feet.   Of course they will never have fur.  His mask is full and his face has taken on that beautiful raccoon look.   Yep, Rocky is fast becoming a raccoon and will soon no longer be a baby...

Knee Babies
This isn't near as good as my bottle !!- This little girl and her brother became orphans because someone believed all she had ever heard about Raccoons.  The mother was seen out during daylight hours and assumed to be Rabid.  She was trapped and destroyed.   The next day, these two babies were found when they got hungry and started screaming.  They are now 7-10 days old.  PLEASE,  don't mistake a mother raccoon out feeding for a dangerous animal.  Now and through October,  mother raccoons will come out right after sun up and just before sun down to feed.   They do this so they can stay and protect the babies through the night.
Yea, this is a whole lot better than that finger..-  Here the baby is right at 21 days old...  One eye is open the other has just started to open.  Ears are fully covered with fur and now floppy but stand out from the head.
Things are still a little blurry to me...-  Well, now 8 days older, (about a month old) this little boy is more active and harder to photograph.   Unfortunately, his sister died four days after her eyes opened for no apparent reason.  Though we know this happens sometime, it's no easier to understand.

Drain Babies
Well, do I measure up ?-  This little girl and her brother are the youngest babies we've ever received. Their mother made a nest in a drain pipe. With the recent heavy rain fall, the litter of four were washed into a street drain. These two were able to hold on to sticks and twigs till they were rescued by a lady with a big heart.
Just washed my hair and now I can't find it !!- They weigh in at a whopping 85 grams.   Their hair is so thin that the rings on the tails are just barely visible. The usual face mask isn't visible yet either.  The umbilical cords have just fallen off and we estimate them to be 3-5 days old.
Hey, give me some air here..-  Now 9 days older, these babies are starting to get more hair on their heads and back.  Bellies, inside of legs, and top of feet still have no fur.  Ears have no fur and still lay flat against her head.  OBTW, she's not being choked here.  She's screaming for more bottle....

Lady's Island Babies
We're resting, What else are you supposed to do on arm rests???- This boy and girl are 7-8 Weeks old.  Their story is not clear but they are very sweet babies.  They love attention but are very shy around strangers.
Give me my blanket... Like all babies, their attention span is rather short.   You have to be quick to get a picture of them unless they're asleep.  They are already weaned so we don't have to bottle feed them.

General Group
Tub-O-Coons ! - After feeding time comes tub time..  This is when we take care of our bathroom needs and get in some quality play time.   Of course this little trick won't work much longer since this group is growing so fast.  Several have already figured out how to get out and have started roaming the bathroom.

We're Innocent I Tell You ! - Yeah right, So why you wearing those masks ??  Feeding time is at hand and these little girls stand ready at the door.  Of course you can't hear what they are saying but, believe me, Dixie and I hear it loud and clear...  There is no rest for the weary when there's 21 hungry faces staring at you....
