Can't you see I'm trying to sleep..?
With the recent heavy winds and rain, many squirrel nests have fallen from the trees.. This little fellow came to us from Sea Pines on Hilton Head. Paul Kent found his nest and was kind enough to carry it home. He asked Dixie to take over and finish raising him. Though this is a male, I chose Windy as his theme song since wind is what caused him to need our help......

Can I measure Up ???
Though very small, we are not sure of his age at this time... We will track his growth from this point and attempt to get an accurate age estimate for him later....

It's not mama but, it'll do !!
Syringe feeding is the best method of feeding for now... We will convert to a bottle and nipple as he progresses.... Our thanks to Paul for having a soft spot in his heart and taking time to find us....

Another Sad Ending.
Unfortunately, this youngster only survived for a few days.... We lose about 1 out of 3 when they're this young.... Though we're not sure what causes this, we suspect that shock probably has a lot to do with it... Again, we wish all our little friends could live long lives, it just isn't meant to be for some...
